Re: Under new mangement

Wieder: There isn't a problem with LT. The problem is that the game settings/rules really only cater to one style of gameplay; militaristic. No space race (no peaceful victory condition) No turn end (no peaceful victory condition) Small wonders. I'm sure this is for game balance, given that LT is ver...

Re: Under new mangement

This is why I like both the space race and scoring. Having the game end on a date, like 2000 ad and using score.

Even players who don't "win", will still be scored to see progress and how well they did even when they lose.

Re: Under new mangement

I'd like to see spaceship stay in the game, as well as the game auto-ending in 2000 ad using score. The tech rate is fast, its a delicate balance. The rate is honestly based on a game where everyone starts with one settler. Except we start with 4, so automatically tech advancement is 4 times higher,...

Re: Under new mangement

Awesome. I really like the fact that there is 50 players in that game, but I don't see any merger lasting. I don't want to start up some fights, but there is a reason it's not going to work, there's no point in trying. It's a very competitive environment, which is nice, but it is essentially a giant...

Re: Ponderings on trade routes/caravans

You know what would be pretty cool is if you could manipulate trade routes from the city page. Such as if a nearby ally who you have a couple routes with decides to back an enemy or invade another friend of yours and you decided to employ "sanctions" on your nearby friend and shut down tra...

Re: Ponderings on trade routes/caravans

Limit options, limit audience. I'm here to play civilization, not a bread and butter wargame. If I can't make trade routes, engage in diplomacy, buy and sell and build great cities than I have no interest in playing. Though I do have issue with the exponential rate of research itself, it speeds up t...

Re: General Demographics

32 here, grew up playing the original civilization. I was also an avid player of earth 2025 from swirve games, favouring long gameplay, hence great turn is right up my alley after getting into freeciv.

Re: New player

This is my first online game, the changes aren't too extreme to adapt to. It uses civ2/civ3 ruleset, minus a couple of things like occupychance. While in the game, the help menus show information on the ruleset that's being used, so it is easy to adapt to while in game. Two important things from the...

Who can read the private forums?

Is it just me (and admins/mods) that can read the private forum under this section? For recording stuff or taking notes?
