Available Nations

Postby XYZ » Tue Apr 29, 2014 10:49 pm

I asked Davide if he could set me as admin for GT11 so we can proceed with the nation selection. Please try to select the nations in the brackets for the registrations panel (looks nicer :D ). Only players who select a nation from this list and drop their name in this thread will be playing. Registering in the official panel is not enough!

Constituencies of Westeros:

House Arryn (Palmyrene) [taken by Grime]
House Baratheon-Stormlands (Flemish) [taken by XYZ]
House Baratheon-Crownlands (Castilian) [taken by ifaesfsu]
House Greyjoy (Pelasgian) [taken by Lord_p]
House Martell (Ghana) [taken by Yadgar]
House Tully (Salishan) [taken by chill]
House Tyrell (Gaelic) [taken by Evan]
House Lannister (Norman) [taken by el_perdedor]
House Stark (Gokturk) [taken by Nimrod]

Free Cities-South (Thuringian) [taken by Sillo]
East Valyria (Anishinaabe) [taken by Jas]
West Valyria (Corsican) [taken by mamece2]

The Saka nation is a new addition to freeciv and it is not available in the list of greatturn nations.
It was added here http://svn.gna.org/viewcvs/freeciv?view ... sion=19582

I will try to add the following 5 nations to the greatturn nation list once I have checked their svg.
Pelasgian, Salishan, German Belgian, Thuringian and Saka

There is a discussion about the new flags here viewtopic.php?f=31&t=980

Ok - the svg files for all 5 of these flags load correctly into my firefox browser. They are really nice flags!
pelasgian.svg, salish.svg, dgb.svg, thuringia.svg and saka.svg
I have attached a zip file containing the 5 flags.

I will now update the nation cache and add it into the attachment

Thanks Kevin, good job.

I've added your updated gt_nations.cache to Greatturn.
All flags display correctly on browser and the cache file was correctly formatted, except for some missing ".svg" extensions from the filenames.
Currently GT relies upon Freeciv 2.4.2, so these newly-added flags ought to be present in the vanilla release too, otherwise neither the clients nor the server will be able to use them. I haven't personally checked if this is the case.

These 5 nations are all in version 2.4.2
That is the version I have and the names in the cache file match the ruleset entries in the data/nations directory.
Am glad you spotted my mistake with the missing ".svg"
Am going to register as the Saka nation now.

"The Saka were an ancient Iranian tribe from the Central Asian
steppes. They were very closely related to the European Scythians,
and were probably descendants of the Andronovo culture."

@el_perdedor: I wrote kinoko.
