It's 5am again and you are still sitting in front of your computer and chatting with some tv's while watching a bloody duel? Welcome friend :)

I was wondering if it was possible to make a portable version of Freeciv, for example a DS or PSP version of it.

There is homebrew on both of these consoles so it would be physically possible to do it, however would the processor in either console be able to run it?

We would differently have to make a new tileset for it, and some sort of virtual keyboard (and have the option to set certain commands to specif keys, ie: goto)

I know how to code (somewhat) in java, and i could easily pick up what ever language Freeciv is coded in, however i don't really have an idea on where to start modifying the code to get it to run on the DS or PSP.

So im up to help if this is possible however i would need to be pointed in the right direction.

There's already a discussion on porting Freeciv to Nintendo DS at:

As for keyboardless interface, the SDL client (which would be the base of the port) is designed to be as usable without the keyboard as possible.
