Interesting. Thanks for the hard work!

What was the substance of the code that you used to create the map, given that Kasei's program didn't work for you?

Sadly, the thought of redoing all my hard work to reproduce the original map with Africa and Oceania is somewhat depressing. It took quite some time, so starting again from scratch... not sure if I'll have the time until Christmas vacation.

For setting up the starting positions along with the floating iceberg and the directional fishes, * I think it could be done in bulk with the aid of software. I'll look at this.

The software I used to make the American map (whose flora and biomes are somewhat inaccurate) will be published on forum.

I agree, putting up some icebergs and settings some start pos. is not much work. About the size of the map I even think we can go smaller: The default Classic-style 116x100 map of North America offers enough space at the beginning but fosters at the same time a more aggressive game because land is more or less limited. I prefer more challenging games over games where sheer production numbers clash.

I uploaded a smaller version, size 19.
With 30 players this map will provide about the same tiles per player which were available in the main continent of GT01.

Really ? Ok go for it Ferdi !

Don't forget all the indigenous native tribes that must be established as well on the continent. Unless that's not what we're playing anymore...
