Version 1.1.0 Release Candidate

Version 1.1.0 brings no changes in gameplay, but it contains new graphics engine with hardware acceleration support. These changes may make some devices incompatible, so before publishing on Google Play I decided to put it here (for more dedicated users). [edit: forgot to mention that now it also works on x86 (Intel Atom) processors]

Just downloaded, but it gets stuck in the first "Loading..." screen.

1.0.19 worked fine.

Galaxy Nexus, running CM10.1

@vladonchik: you are using old (called "new" in options) joystick which I haven't tested. It will work, but now you can simply disable it in options.
@bart9h: I found device with similar issue (Samsung Galaxy Tab 2), so I will debug it.

Freeciv should now work on these devices it used not to work. PowerVR GPUs allocate big amount of memory for each texture that is used as framebuffer, so previous setup with many small textures used too much memory. I also added unit upgrade button and fixed "New" joystick.

Made an account just to say thanks for all the work you are doing!

1.1.1 is working great on my S3 (T-mobile Variant). The HW acceleration seems to have fixed the lag issues. EDIT. minimap does not work.

As a side note what engine are you using to port this game? I am currently trying to make a game in libgdx.

Prior to 1.1 I used Pygame (which is based on SDL 1.2), but in new version I switched to SDL 2.0.

Update looks great, but crashes out far more often now on my ASUS T300FT. This wouldn't be too much of a problem if it wasn't for the fact that reloading triggers the bug I reported - i.e. other civilisations stop building the wonders they were working on.

That's indeed a curious bug. Can you capture the game's log and upload it here? Better if you upload the faulty savefile, too. Some instructions are here.

Consider using libgdx for future builds. This current build is absolutely terrible. If you need me to tell you why then you should probably take up fishing instead. Best of luck.
