 Interesting... The first time I clicked on your link, I ended up with some setup.exe in my folder... maybe I moved the wrong file...

Next problem: there is no civ1civ2.serv file.

There are other .serv files, but none of them contain anything that resembles a path. (for the record, I'm using Windows...)

Uh sorry you're right. Pick up any .serv and change the settings accordingly saving to gt09.serv

there have been a poll about marine ability, but it is not clear to which units it applies

I believe Davide's final message "Feature indirectly committed into GT09 as part of the Civ2Civ3 ruleset" in that poll means that he adopted the Civ2Civ3 default.

That is all.

Tech question: suppose I'm researching a technology. And then I receive that same technology from a treaty. When I switch research, what happens to the previously accumulated research points?

I don't know with Civ2Cive but in other rulesets, I'm pretty sure you DO conserve the bulbs for the next tech. Just in case, please be sure the next tech is the new secondary "goal", while, of course, the received tech should still be the "primary" goal (althou I think you can change the new tech for another new tech in the same turn, again without losing the bulbs)

The rules say that the points don't disappear when you switch due to discoveing a new technology. I'm just curious if it also works if you got the tech by treaty instead of getting it yourself.

As I said, all your points are preserved, and it does not matter how you get thech, treaty, conquest, stealing.
