Ferdi has asked me to be his co-admin on the "regular" Africa map (non-hex).

He twisted my rubber arm, so I guess you should put me down for that one Davide ;)

Excellent!

And, better, you already had moderator's permissions over the whole forum :)

Sorry, been busy in the last week and haven't been to this forum for a while, thus multiple posts in a short period of time. Also, I may be jumping into something other people already discussed, I skipped a part of the discussion but I didn't see anyone ask the following question:

Why not GT10-Africa-hex?

I definitely want to play a standard, clasic, boring, same-old-same-old Civ game. That's GT09. However, if I'm playing another one at the same time, it can be absolutely anything. I'd also like to play both Hex and Africa. But playing three games at the same time would really be too much.

Because some people like scenarios and others do not like them. If three games are too much for you choose what you like more. Besides I think Davide's intention was to have people play only one of GT10 games (though most of the players who registered on hex also registered on africa).

Well, there is GT-09 sans scenario for them, innit? And those things *will* be running at the same time. I'm afraid having more specific games at the same time really will water things down. Or put pressure on people who play all of them.

So.. how about a poll on this one? :)

Hm, I just realised GT08 is still running, so I really think you may be overstretching it.

Will see. I have my bets on gt8 ending in 30+-10 turns :)
Gt9 indeed will be random game after some absence of such games.
gt10 hex most likelly will not start before the end of aprill so for all we know gt9 can be ended by that time (hehe not likely if my feeling is right and starts align properly I think it is likely that gt9 will be loong game, at least for some players:) )
Africa is made from squares no one is going to change that. Hexes are underepresented so I see no reason not to try them once in a while.
I myself find scenarios rather very annoying, but seems that a lot of gt players like them (for what reasons I can not fathom), and thus majority of games seem to be going to scenerios, so I see nothing wrong with having some balance with random map hex game ;)

I'm unable to find a way to edit ruleset

http://greatturn.org/rulesets/index.php ... T10-Hexmap

Gives "Invalid Hash" when visiting commit or tree. It was my understanding that one could check out ruelset using git?

Great that you are using Git!
Yes indeed this is the right way to check out the tree, but look, it is still empty so you'll have to issue the first push, as detailed here: http://greatturn.org/rulesets/help.php
