About the Colonial Africa Scenario

The scenario consists of the colonial powers of that time, Abyssinia, Liberia, Boer Republic, Marocco and some local tribes/kingdoms and a slave trader nation. The 12 colonial powers or independant African Nations have all the same tech level but different size in population and territory; the local tribemen have lower tech and strength and should be controlled by the ai. Because of missing data and time all the cities have the size 1 and don't have any structures inside (contrary to the WWI scenario). Each colony has proportionally to it's size a number of cavalry and artillery.

-the map is not revealed since I made fundamental changes to the landscape
-we all start with despotism, make sure you change your government at the beginning.

Perfect!

We should open a thread where people can declare what nation they want to play with. Not mandatory at all, but would be nice :)

Eventually, I'll manually reassign a proper nation to players who won't have one featured by the scenario.

Britain has made an alliance with a country, which I didn't think was allowed.

Also, how many techs did other countries receive? I am controlling the Ottoman Empire. I have zero techs and I am currently researching Alphabet. That doesn't seem appropriate.

Thank you! I was confused at first because I had only made contact with Britain and France on Turn 0 -- but when I made contact with Italy this turn and saw they too had a much higher score than I do, I was fairly certain there was some issue.

On a more serious note, it seems that GT10-Africa is suffering from some other issues. As of this morning when I tried to connect (9am GMT -05), the server is not showing up on the Metaserver. Could it be that it's currently offline while Davide modifies the game to rectify the issues mentioned previously?

If so, any estimate on when the game will be back online? Or is it down for a long time/indefinitely?

The match's server is shut down because Ferdi is fixing the scenario. It will come back as soon as it's fixed - maybe 30 minutes or 2 hours.
